"Superstars" vs Was (Not Was) vs The Temptations

My initial plan here was to make a remix of my favourite 70s TV theme tune - the theme music to "Superstars", actually a track called "Heavy Action" by Johnny Pearson. This tune might be more familiar to listeners in the US as the theme to "Monday Night Football" for which it was also used. For those unfamiliar with "Superstars", it was also one of my favourite childhood TV shows, where top sportsmen (for it was generally male-dominated) of the day attempted to prove their prowess as all-round athletes, or fell off bikes, as the case may be. Judo's Brian Jacks became a household name thanks to his regular victories. Kevin Keegan just fell off bikes. This might jog your memory of the general format:

Anyway, whilst working on the track it became clear that its natural partner was The Temptations' "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone", so I made a mash-up of the two and added the beat from Was (Not Was)'s Temptations cover for good measure. Here's the result. I've also put a purely instrumental version first as that had been my initial aim and I think it has its own merits. Hope you enjoy.
